The highlight of the trip was the 2-hours helicopter tour.
We started out at the Blue Hawaiian Helicopters Waikoloa heliport on the western side of the island and then flew across the saddle between Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea volcanoes to the active Kilauea volcano.
We then flew back to Hilo, which is on the east coast, to re-fuel. Following this short stop, we flew north to the Kohala Coast where we viewed towering sea cliffs, meandering valleys, and ancient Hawaiian settlements. Also check out the "Waterfalls" link shown below.
